VetCompass

VetCompass Australia collects demographic and clinical information from day-to-day veterinary clinic consultations around the country. We then use this wealth of data to investigate the range and frequency of health problems seen in cats, dogs and horses. Ultimately this will give us a greater understanding of these diseases and conditions and so improve their identification, treatment and prevention.

The system and data are managed and used by a consortium of all seven of Australia’s veterinary schools: the University of Sydney, University of Melbourne, University of Adelaide, University of Queensland, Murdoch University, Charles Sturt University and James Cook University. Academics, clinical staff and students at these schools have the opportunity to apply for access to the data for projects investigating a broad range of topics.
